Why did you join Quarto? What do you hope it accomplishes this year?
I joined Quarto because I wanted to have a more active role in the creative writing community on campus. My time on Quarto has been filled with reading great writing from my peers and getting to discuss it with one of the warmest and most insightful clans around. I hope Quarto is able to reach even deeper into the Columbia community this year. Whether that is through readership, submissions, or events, I know there are literature enthusiasts all over the place.
What is the last book you read that wasn't for a class?
I'm currently reading The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon.
If you could recommend one book to anyone, which would it be and why?
The Boxcar Children, because I've been hearing recently that not everyone read that as a kid, and they should have. It taught me that even though I was a child, if worst came to worse, I was totally capable of surviving on my own in a boxcar in the woods.
If you could live in any book or literary world, which would it be and why?
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, because Lisbeth Salander is a coding/hacker genius and a undeniable edgy badass, neither of which are qualities I posses at the moment.
